Watch Cole Field House floor being built

Timothy Bowen

As Maryland prepares to bring basketball back to historic Cole Field House this Friday, the school's Facilities department shows us the basketball court being installed.

When Cole Field House closed after the 2001-2002 National Championship season, the court from the historic building was cut up and sold to Maryland fans who wanted to remember one of the most historic buildings in college basketball. Once the floor was removed, Cole was turned into a recreation building, mainly for indoor soccer use. So one of the coolest things about hosting Maryland Madness in the building has been the return of a basketball court to the historic building. Thanks to the University's Facilities, Operations and Events folks, we get to see the progress as a basketball court is returned back to Cole:

Halfway there!

Looking good!

Juuuuuuander-ful!

Courtside seats are ready to go:

Aaaaand we're ready for basketball!
