Non-Revenue sports Sunday wrap-up

Three women's teams were in action for the Terps today. Field Hockey bounced back from a tough loss at UVA on Friday night to squash Temple 6-0. Katie Gerzabek notched 2 goals while Megan Frazier, Janessa Pope, Sarah Sprink, and Jill Wittmer each added one. The Terps hit the road to face number 3 Princeton on Tuesday night. Field Hockey's next home game will be Saturday at 1 pm. I'd like to encourage those of you who are tailgating in the area of the FH & Lacrosse complex to stop by and show your support for Coach Meharg and her team.

Volleyball bounced back from its tough 5 set loss to Virginia Tech on Friday to take care of business against UVA at the Comcast Pavilion winning in 4 sets 25-27, 25-15, 25-22, and 25-19. Ashleigh Crutcher again led the team with 18 kills and added 19 digs for her first double-double of the season. Fellow sophomore Adreene Elliott added 11 kills and maintained her remarkable .400 hitting percentage. Freshman Mackenzie Dagostino and senior Remy McBain also had double doubles - Dagostino with 35 assists and 11 digs and McBain with 14 assists and 13 kills. Junior Sarah Harper had 21 digs to extend her team lead in that category as the Terps move to 2-3 in the ACC. Next up for the Terps: Friday at Duke followed on Saturday with a match at Wake Forest.

Finally, Women's soccer fell just short at #16 Virginia Tech losing 1-0. Fortune wasn't smiling on the Terps as 2 shots hit the crossbar - one in each half. Still, the team managed to finish 2-1-1 in a murderous stretch of 4 consecutive games against ranked teams (3 on the road). The Terps will host out of conference for Frances Marion on Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Ludwig field.
