Preview here. Game kicks at noon on FX. It should be upper-60s and drizzly throughout the game.
I don't know about you guys, but yesterday's Stormturtle jersey announcement has me extraordinarily excited for this, even with the knowledge that we're probably about to get spanked. And when I use my brain, my prediction hasn't moved a centimeter from yesterday's 42-23 call in favor of the By-Godders.
But have you ever just had a certain feeling about a game? A strange optimism you can't really explain and shouldn't really be there but for some reason ... just is? I mean, odds aren't that Perry Hills will finally become the Scott McBrien heir apparent that we've been waiting for since forever. But it's about time West Virginia had some demons of their own to deal with in this rivalry. And Hills (for his toughness, not necessarily ability) and Stefon Diggs (for his ability) seem like just the type who could prove to be a thorn in their side for years to come.
"Years to come" almost certainly isn't "now," though. But this being a GameThread, I'll continue to play the optimist.
Random, Baseless Prediction: Tyler Cierski scores a touchdown. Just 'cuz.
Prediction: Like I said, realistically, 42-23 'Eers. But purely going by my probably-way-too-optimistic gut? Maryland 31, West Virginia 28. Three missed 'Eer field goals come back to bite them, Brad Craddock slices the game winner through the rain from 43 yards out.
Too much to ask?
