One of the great things about going to a school like Maryland is that there are tens of thousands of passionate alumni (and non-alumni) fans who do not live in the DC or Baltimore metro areas. It is not easy, however, for those of us who have left the area to find large concentrations of other Maryland fans near where we live. Some local alumni groups organize game parties at local bars and restaurants, but these groups vary in size and activity level and don't reach non-alumni fans or alumni who aren't on University and Alumni Association mailing lists. As a result, alot of us don't know where to go when we're sick of settling for ESPN3 and are desparate to sit in a bar and enjoy a Raycom satellite feed with other (ideally somewhat intoxicated) Terps. Hence this post! If you live outside the Maryland area, and you know of a good Maryland bar (or if there aren't any in your area and you want to propose one) then please comment. I'm particularly interested, for selfish reasons, in finding a good Maryland bar in the LA area - I know of a Ravens bar (The Parlor in Hollywood) but I haven't yet found a good spot to watch Terps games. Responses in time for tomorrow's game against UConn are especially appreciated - the inevitable loss (sorry for the pessimism - I'm an Edsall hater) will be easier to take if shared communally.
