The pink elephant in the room when it comes to point guard Roddy Peters (Suitland, Md./Suitland) is Maryland. Can the Terps offer? Should they? Will they? What happens if they do? "I'll let you know," Peters said with a smile. Maryland coach Mark Turgeon watched him Thursday, and he is clearly going to give Peters a strong look. Peters knows the deal and will have a question if the offer comes: "How much does Turgeon really want me?" [...] Roddy Peters continued his strong play of late, as the 6’4 class of 2013 point guard was again on his game out in Philadelphia. The Suitland (MD) star has very good size at the one as well as some major length. However, he is more than just a good basketball body, but rather a talented kid with a nice handle who attacks the cup very well and also finds open teammates. [...] The transformation of Peters has been fun to watch. A physical lead guard, Peters is tough. Over the past year he’s made improvement to his ball skills and has gained confidence. He attacks the rim with aggression and has no issues playing through contact. From mid-range and in he can score, but he’s also a talented passer with good court vision. He moved into Scout.com’s Top 100 last week and he’s proving that he was certainly worth of that ranking.

Quotes from ESPN, NBE, and Scout It's Roddy Peters week, I guess. I've been writing him off for just about ever, but with the vibes on the Harrisons turning negative (except for that random-and-super-crazy Papa-Harrison-hired-by-UA rumor) and Rysheed Jordan dawdling, well, you never know. He's been doing well on the circuit, and if he keeps it up for long enough Turgeon's going to have to take a look eventually. And there's something to be said for a player you'd essentially lead for the second you offer. Meanwhile: Pookie Powell seems to have stopped listing the Terrapins, while Junior Etou says he wants to be a small forward, not a 4. Maryland certainly doesn't need any more wings, so I'm wondering if that'll hurt their chances. In a rather boring summer for recruitniks, I suppose this'll have to pass for intrigue.
