And, seemingly enough, with the same type of player. Tanner Hartman, a 6'5, 255lb OL out of Lynchburg, VA has committed to play for MD.....as a strong side DE. Another under the radar prospect it appears, as he only boasts offers from Temple, Richmond and LIberty with strong interest from VT, UVA and BC. Maryland offered about two weeks ago and he pulled the trigger last night.
For what its worth, he has a great attitude. He said he doesn't care where he plays, as long as he gets a chance to play. Of course, that is what you expect out of someone whose best offer is from Temple before MD came calling, but he isn't rated anywhere so there really isn't much we can do but speculate. He has great size for a SDE, but past that I have nothing except that he played both ways in HS, so he does have DLine experience, but has been listed as a Tackle or Guard everywhere.
IMS has done a story on it: http://maryland.247sports.com/Article/Hartman-Impressed-by-Terps-Coaches-80602
Matt Bracken from the Sun has promised a write up later today or this weekend on him as well.
Anyone else starting to get a bit tired of the under the radar picks? There aren't many spots left for 2013, they could probably safely take another 4-5, so at some point they need to start getting picky.
