Hat tip to Seaville81 for this ...
Jacquille Veii committed to Maryland today (Thursday 6/28). He's listed as an "athlete" by Rivals and as a cornerback by 247. He's pretty fast (40 in 4.49) and relatively short (5' 10") ... not sure what the coaches have in mind for him but it's nice to see more speed added to the group. He's listed as a two-star by both Rivals and 247 -- I don't know if that's because he's that ranking or because folks haven't seen him in person yet.
Veii is from the Avalon School in Gaithersburg. For everyone keeping track, the Terps now have local 2013 commitments from:
Baltimore (Gilman)
Baltimore (Dunbar)
Catonsville (Catonsville)
DC (Friendship Collegiate) (3)
Forestville (Bishop McNamara)
Frederick (Thomas Johnson)
Gaithersburg (Avalon)
Salisbury (Wicomico)
Severn (Archbishop Spalding)
as well as a semi-local from the Charter School of Wilmington (DE) and a non-local McEachern (Powder Springs, GA) ... and the New Mexico transfers (who are local but started college elsewhere).
The recruiting train keeps on chugging along. Go Terps!
