I wanted to give a big THANK YOU to the entire football coaching staff. They have been working hard at recruiting and it is paying off.
And regardless of whether you think Locksley is a demigod of recruiting, or or what your opinion of Edsall is, just remember that it really is a team effort.
Locksley is a fantastic recruiter, there's no question about that. We all know how he's pulled DMV talent to wherever he's coached, including Maryland in the past. He has helped and will help the Terps secure top talent.
Edsall has been all over Maryland working hard. He has been speaking at clinics to the coaches (and the recruits' parents) ever since he was hired by Maryland. In February 2011 he gave a keynote speech at a coaching clinic held at Friendship Collegiate. He offered Cavon Walker a scholarship even before Locksley was rehired by the Terps.
Derwin Gray mentioned how several years ago, OL coach Tom Brattan had given him attention. HC Dave Wannstedt thought enough of Greg Gattuso to make him Pitt's recruiting coordinator in 2005. Johnson and Powell and all of the guys are putting in the time and effort to bring in good guys.
This is not just one person, or just two people. It's a bunch of guys working hard and getting the job done. Thanks to all of 'em.
