I've been following this off and on and with the recent news that erases most doubts, I wanted to understand the facts better and make a donation. Hopefully we're able to save some of the programs.

Can someone explain to me why the programs need to be funded in perpetuity by December 2013? Would we really rather KILL a program if it can only be funded for 10 years? Virtually nothing in life is funded in perpetuity. It doesn't seem fair for these sports programs being to be held to this standard.

The additional burden placed on the men's programs by Title IX is Federal law and I understand we can't get around that obstacle, but I don't understand this one and am hoping someone can explain.
