7-foot-3 center Boris Bojanovsky (Slovakia/Canarias Basketball Academy) has committed to Florida State and head coach Leonard Hamilton. The news was reported on the Canarias website by head coach and CBA director Rob Orellana.
The big man chose the Seminoles over several other ACC schools, including Georgia Tech, Miami, N.C. State and Virginia Tech.
"This was always the goal for me when I came to CBA three years ago," Bojanovsky said. "My dream has come true, to know I'll be playing in the ACC under a great coach and at a powerhouse program, I can only thank Rob Orellana and his coaching staff for pushing me everyday to make this dream become a reality."
Bojanovsky averaged 22 points and 13.3 rebounds playing for the Slovak Republic in the U18 European Championships last summer. He joins an incoming freshman class for Hamilton which also features shooting guard Montay Brandon (Greensboro, N.C./Wesleyan Christian), shooting guard Aaron Thomas (Cincinnati/Brewster Academy), point guard Devon Bookert (Anchorage, Ak./Impact Basketball Academy) and power forward Robert Gilchrist (London, Eng./Polk State College).<!-- end free preview text -->
