Greenberg out at VT?

Virginia Tech is having a press conference today at 4 p.m., and reports are saying that it is to reveal a change in the head coaching position of their basketball team.

Virginia Tech is having a news conference at 4 p.m. and it could mark the end of Seth Greenberg's tenure with the Hokies.

The rumors have run rampant. David Teel of the Newport News Daily Press has reported that the newser is about a change in head men's basketball coach.

CBSSports.com has been unable to confirm the report.

Greenberg told CBSSports.com that he was unaware of what the news conference was about when reached about 1:30 p.m. ET on Monday afternoon.

Greenberg, 56, has been the head coach in Blacksburg for the past nine seasons and has amassed a 167-117 mark in his time. He has led the Hokies to one NCAA tournament appearance and has gone to the NIT five times.

Greenberg was really starting to turn things around on the recruiting trail the past couple years. He brought in a very good class last year, and has good classes set up in the coming years. Depending on who they hire (doubt they will get anyone good), they could lose a lot of recruits and current players.

They were involved with guys in 2013 and 2014 that we are targeting as well, specifically, Stanford Robinson (2013 4-star wing), and Devon Hall (2014 top-25 PG), among others.
