From a skillset standpoint, replacing what Sean Mosley contributed last season will be pretty easy compared to what he brought to the table in terms of leadership. Turge tagged him as the team leader immediately after meeting the only four-year senior on last year's team. But there are still several things we don't know.
Was Turge's appointment of Mosley as team leader last season typical, or was that something he did in his first season with the Terps to create a liaison between himself and the rest of the team? Regardless, the question remains: Who is in a position to fill Mosley's leadership shoes next year?
Terrell Stoglin needs to improve his NBA stock by learning to distribute the ball better. Showing he has leadership qualities wouldn't hurt him in the eyes of league scouts, either. James Padgett, as the only senior on the team, is another logical candidate, but does he possess leadership qualities? In my opinion, sophomore Nick Faust is too young for the role, but he does seem to be a Turge-type player. Is Pe'Shon Howard a candidate? What if he isn't healthy? What if his playing time is significantly limited? Does that disqualify him?
So the questions are: Who is best suited to assume team leadership responsibilities? Is there a natural leader - glue guy - on next year's team? Who would you like to see take over Mosley's role?
