First off, apparently there is some ruckus going on between blog and posters. I for one back the stance of cleaning up the fanposts from having multiple posts about the same topic so close to one another and that most posts are simple 10 words comments and not true posts. So long story short, NICE WORK BEN BROMAN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, I FOR ONE ENJOY THE HELL OUT OF TESTUDO TIMES.
Now as for Maryland Terp related news. I don't see why everyone finds it necessary to post a transfers name who has little or nothing to do with the Terps. I understand it would be nice to land transfer who have talent, but posting about them with no ties to the Terps is just a waste. The latest being, Gray from Miss. St. No where does it indicate he is coming here or even knows where the state of Maryland is located on a map. I like when there's mention of a former Terp target or someone who Turgeon was recruiting at A&M, now there is a connection.
As for Terp Basketball recruiting, I know most of the targets are long gone and committed elsewhere. Everyone knows that SCJ is down to three between Maryland, Pitt and USF. I likely say its down to Maryland and USF. With no immediate ties to USF or living in Florida I dont see how SCJ would go there. Though the Bulls are coming off an NCAA bid. I say he commits back to the Terps and finishes out our recruiting class. Also, Evan Smotrycz is down to three transferring from Michigan. Its down to Maryland, Colorado and Providence. I dont see him coming to Maryland. I also dont see him going to the Buffs, they have a huge class coming in this year which means for a lot of competition, that is also the reason I dont see him coming to Maryland either. I say he goes to Providence it seems like the Friars have a top notch class and adding Evan would be a great step for a birth and Smotz would have immediate PT for the Friars.
With the two obvious targets left does Maryland really bring in a Darrick Wood.I think he would be a nice addition, but would be a pretty far step down from SCJ. I know there different type players, but overall skill set SCJ is much better. Also, there has been a lot of mention that Dodd will not be a Terp next year and that he will go to a Prep school. Does anyone know anything more on that situation? Is there anyone else out there that the Terps could add. What is the deal with Alex O. from UCONN is he even considering the Terps as a possible spot?
The 2013 class seems to not get much pub lately outside of Jordan and the Twins. I know there's Stan Robinson, but outside of that who else is a true target? Honestly with the way recruiting is going the Twins in my opinion are a Kentucky lock, sorry for being a downer, but please tell me how they end up as Terps? I also think Jordan has a better chance to be a Terp then either Harrison. I know it makes sense for him to go to Temple, but I would think he sees that Maryland is on the up swing and Temple is never going to be more then at best a Sweet 16 team and thats the max.
On football recruiting news, Fuller from GC was giving great praise on Edsall about respecting what he is doing at Maryland and in a round about way, critcizing that Friedgen didnt have it. Fuller also mentioned that Edsall is selling "make your own legacy" as the main point on why Fuller should be a Terp and it seems like Fuller is not buying into it as much as others are and did. Fuller mentioned that he is not Diggs and wants other reason to attend Maryland. Also, is the football version of Michael Parker committed to Maryland or not? Also on the Fire Edsall for Bobby Petrino talk, first off its not happening. Second, if we did do this switch, Petrino would leave as soon as a "better" job opened up like he did at Louisville and the Falcons. He is scum and classlees. I dont care about him banging a 25 year old, good for him, just not someone I want running a team I root for.
