I wanted to make this fan post about a week ago, but I have been extremely busy. I want to discuss the lineups that may occur and how the players will fare next year. So here goes:
Lineup first half/second half
PG- Stoglin/Stoglin
SG- Faust/Faust
SF- Parker/Layman
PF- Padgett/Padgett
C- Len/Cleare
I think Stoglin will be PG most of the year because i think Turgeon will reward him for not jumping to the pros. Allen and Cassell will likely see PT at the point as well. Alot of people want to see Faust at point, but he committed way too many TOs last season to be an ACC PG.
I think Faust will get alot of time at the SG even though its not technically his natural position. I could see Faust being moved to wing and cassell (if he commits) starting a few games at the SG.
I think Parker gets the starts during most of the OOC schedule. Though Layman could go on a streak where he will be shooting the lights out and take the reigns mid way through tthe season. This was one of the harder positions to predict.
I think Padgett since hes a senior will easily have the position covered all year. I think Mitchell, Pankey, and Dodd (if he doesnt redshirt) have not proved anything and they dont deserve anything until they earn it.
I think Len will easily be the favorite in the beginning of the season to start at center. Yes I know he is not a pure center, but he has shown good potential and is a team player. We will find out how much a beast Cleare is and he
The changes in lineups are mostly because of unpredictability among the freshmen. No matter who is in the lineup and what position their playing I think the Terps will be a top tier ACC team. Let me know what lineup you think is most likely and how the players will progress throughout the season.
*To clear up any confusion, I believe Howard wont be back till late non conference play. Once he comes back he will be an immediate starter at the point*
