Well Maryland has knocked Wake out of the ACC Tourney in dominating fashion, destroying the Deacs in the 2nd half. This gives Maryland their 2nd straight game in which the team got stronger as the game went on. Earlier in the year it seemed like Maryland could hand with anyone for 20-30 minutes before collpasing and losing the game. I know its a small sample, but if Maryland can continue this tomorrow vs. UNC this will might be a game.
Per my post yesterday on what needed to happen in order for Maryland to make a run, Maryland did exactly what I predicted. As for the team as a whole the team got stronger as the game went on, the team had some balance and didnt continue to shoot itself in the foot.
For a player by player breakdown. Stogs did what he needed to do, which is score points, but do it economically and I believe this was one of his most if not the most efficient game of the year going 8-14 from the field and 6-6 from the line. Faust had another good game contributing a career high 19 points. Faust did miss 4 foul shots, but I wont pick on him with that, but he did only turn the ball over once. Padgett had 10 and 5, on 5 for 6 shooting. Mosley would be considered the disappointment of the day, but in typical Mosley fashion a little bit of everything.
To review the things that needed to happen, pretty much everything I predicted Maryland needed did happen vs. Wake. I believe the things that need to change for tomorrow are only a couple of things. I believe Mosley needs to be more productive offensively and MAryland will need to get to the line more. If we can limit the TO's and easy baskets by UNC. We might actually have a game tomorrow. Roy Williams said it himself that he does not like conference tournaments and we get the early game, which is UNC's first, maybe we catch them sleeping and pull the biggest upset I can remember.
What are your thoughts??? BTW, Mitchell is a Terp...AWESOME!!!
