i wanted to wait until the anniversary to post this...but my wife is in the middle of a slow labor and i am growing bored waiting for my little terp to be born...
so where were you during the 2002 national championship game...what are your memories...
i will apologize right now for the lack of capitalization or punctuation...my phone is being a piece of crap right now... so i was a freshman manager on the team that year. freshmen did not travel with the team so i flew down to atlanta and crashed in the team hotel with some upperclassmen managers. i distinctly remember paying them in playboys for opening their room to me. anyway...on the day of the iu game i went to braves opening day at turner field the took the marta to the georgia dome for the game. a lasting memory i have is the celebrity sightings. i ran into warren sapp and his posse at halftime...after the game scott van pelt jumping up and down on the concourse acting like a complete fool yet a total superfan. i remember the flag they brought out before the game was from the world trade center...first time i ever went through metal detectors at a sporting event...post 911 ya know. great party afterward at the team hotel. partied right through the night...then had a 6am flight home. caught a shuttle to the airport with bonnie bernstein...the family we were riding with said wow you really look like that lady on tv. bonnie smiled at me and said thanks...i get that all the time. still have a ring from that title year...ill post that picture when i get back home from the hospital.anyway...entertain me...what are your memories....
