MD In The Lead For 2012 PG Ian Baker

Baltimore Sun says the Terps are in the lead for 2012 PG Ian Baker (Arlington Country Day HS in DC) who was previously committed to S. Carolina. ESPN has him as a 2-star (87 grade), anyone know anything about him? I know we need a PG, but?

"According to a story today by Jeff Ermann in The Baltimore Sun, Maryland is among the leaders for 2012 point guard Ian Baker (Washington, D.C./Arlington Country Day School).

Working in the Terrapins' favor is that Baker and his family is from the area. "It definitely is [attractive]. I would always want to be at home, to be close to family and friends," Baker told the newspaper. "So that's definitely an attractive thing about Maryland. I first heard from Maryland probably a month or two ago. [Terps assistant] coach Dalonte [Hill] just let me know it's close to home and if I were to come, I'd definitely have the opportunity to play right away."

Baker, a former South Carolina commit, is also hearing from Memphis, Central Florida and UMass, but it sounds like the Terps could have as good a shot as any here.

Another interesting part of this is Sam Cassell Jr. and his interest in the Terps. His stock continues to rise, and big offers continue to pour in for the Baltimore native, but if Maryland is able to land Cassell Jr. it will be interesting to see whether it continues to pursue another guard in Baker."

This is from ESPN:

Bottom Line:
Baker tracks as a very good mid-major recruit, the kind that would typically find a home in the A10. Big schools, given the state of the point guard play in the class will look his way. First tier mid-major recruit who will get sniffs from BCS leagues.

Thoughts? I know nothing about Baker?
