Dear Stogs...

Terrell,

You just finished your Sophomore season at Maryland. Congrats on being the season's leading scorer in College Basketball's most storied conference. I wish the team could've gone out on a higher note, however, you certainly played an outstanding game against UNC and the team, in my opinion, played it's best basketball all season just one day before in the Wake game. You and the team certainly have a lot to be proud of. You were the main reason (on the court) that Maryland beat expectations this season.

Now that the season is over, I know you will be considering whether or not you want to return to Maryland or play professionally. My purpose here is to simply state what one long-time and HUGE, albeit insignificant in the grand scheme of things, Maryland fan feels. You do whatever you feel is best for Terrell, no one will ever fault you for that. However, I can't help but think of how good you could be if you stayed 2 more years in College Park learning under Turge. Coach Williams retirement last spring took almost all of us fans by surprise and change like that can be difficult for any team, especially a young one like yours. But Mark Turgeon coming in has helped (at least the fan base, I don't know about the team's perception) put to rest most of that uncertainty that comes when a legend such as Gary Williams retires. Next year you would have the help of 3 Top 100 players currently in high school. These include 2 of the top Centers in the class and, in my opinion, a very underrated Jake Layman as well as another PG and the return of Faust, Len, Padge, Pe', Parker and Pankey. The returning guys will have more experience and so will you. You have the potential to be legendary in College Park and you also have the chance to be a part of what could be a very special team. You PLUS another year experience PLUS the return of a true Point Guard PLUS 85% of the team coming back PLUS the talent of the incoming class PLUS Turge = potential to be N_A_S_T_Y!! And don't even get me started on staying 2 more years!! No matter what your decision, I for one appreciate your contributions to this years team. I know that in the long run Terrell Stoglin is gonna be alright. I know Maryland Basketball is gonna be alright, I just hope we can be alright together for 1 possibly 2 more years. Again, you should ALWAYS do what you believe is best for you and your family, those are the people who matter most. Just know there are tons of fans who would love to see you rock that UA jersey next year and many of us know the potential of this team with you on it. Good Luck T.S. regardless of your decision and Thank You.
