Alyssa Thomas Named ACC Player of the Year
Women's basketball forward Alyssa Thomas was named the ACC Player of the Year today, and is the second sophomore ever to win the award (Alana Beard, Duke, 2002).
She leads the ACC with 17.0 points per game and has 8.5 rebounds per game.
Congrats to Thomas, and to the women's basketball team in general for their great year so far.

A terrific honor!
She’s awesome to watch and definitely deserves this.
Athletics dept. made a little highlight reel of her season Including a great slowed down view of her block to beat Duke: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9sl1qQ8Rvk&feature=youtu.be
Any given day.
Way to go Alyssa!!
Lady Terps are the BOMB!! Final 4 Bound. Brenda has done a great job this year and all Terp fans are very proud of you. The Victory against Puke was a tribute to the hard work all the women have done this year.
Plus, living in NC makes it just that much sweeter!!
Wish we had someone like her on the mens team
She is straight up sick!

The WBB Program Continues to be Solid as a Rock!
I know a lot of people view WBB as inferior, but, I don’t care what sport it is, to be named the conference player of the year, it’s a testament to a lot of hard work and effort, that those same people don’t realize. And when you then think about the fact that 3 Terps have won it in the last 5 years, you realize just how great of a program Brenda Frese has built. I don’t care how “inferior” the sport may be to some, this is a program all Terps should be proud of! Congrats to Alyssa and GO TERPS!
I don't watch much WBB
but respect must be given when it’s due. You go, girl!!
Wish we gave the same attention to WBB as MBB
we’d have more to cheer about.
