Star 2013 TE Adam Breneman deciding March 9, Maryland in top 4
He is, by all accounts, the best TE coming out of high school since Kyle Rudolph back in 2008. He's choosing between Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, and, yes, Maryland.
He's been to College Park at least half a dozen times now, and I'd say Maryland has a much better chance than, say, Notre Dame. But beating out Ohio State will be difficult, and Penn State might be downright impossible - he's been considered a PSU lean for awhile and then Bill O'Brien is probably selling him on the whole "next Gronkowski" thing. (I wonder if we can sell that we had all of his brothers.)
Still, Maryland has a chance at it. Landing a prospect like Breneman would be ridiculous, not least because it'd continue Maryland's recruiting momentum on the trail.

If we get Breneman,
It will show Maryland is becoming a recruiting power. Diggs is understandable because of the home state thing, but pulling Breneman out of PSU’s grasp would be monumental and would show that we can compete with Penn State in getting the best of this region’s kids.
Plus getting another 5-star over Urban Meyer would be great.
No freakin' way we get him. I'd love it, but PSU seems almost 100%
If we do get him though, you’re right, it would be a sign of our strength recruiting wise.
As much as there could be blowback...
if I was Locks and Co. I’d go negative as shit on PSU. Once ol’ Jer is in the pen, the civil litigation will begin and that could very well bleed the AD dry.

Ok no Problem.
But on a side note: Do all of you really dislike Nike? Because I find myself wearing Nike almost every day and I don’t know if I should feel like a traitor because I don’t really like UA.

Is the NCAA going to do anything to penn state?
I haven’t heard about any penalties since the sandusky allegations. SMU got the death penalty for improper benefits (giving cars and money to underprivileged athletes) but nothing for enabling a child molester?
Cant imagine people would be that eager to go to PSU with a brand new coach and an uncertain future
I don't know if they can do anything to PSU
Sandusky broke federal laws, not NCAA laws from what I understand.
Im sure raping a kid on campus isn't allowed by the NCAA. Im not sure they would do anything against PSU now though
Everyone involved is gone now.
actually the NCAA is investigating
and there will surely be punishment under the “lack of institutional control” label. it might be a while off though
they just got a top QB from Hargrave Academy
just sayin’…

He's a country kid named "Christian Hackenberg"
He was always going to go somewhere like Penn State or N.C. State. I was much less impressed with that than most were. If Penn State can’t lose those guys, there’s a serious problem in the program.
So do you think they'll have much trouble
recruiting in the future after the Sandusky debacle?

Oh hell yes...
that AD was dirty from top to bottom in this Sandusky thing, and just because everyone will be either dead, fired, or in jail doesn’t stop civil complaints against the University at large and the AD.

I think it is likely
The NCAA may not get directly involved in the rape, but they absolutely abhor “lack of institutional control”….the type of thing that results in cover ups, lying etc

Thanks, I am wearing MD red shorts and shirt today…picked them up last weekend, good call!
I am hoping for South Carolina, but loved Maryland, heading to BC tomorrow, they are insisting I come visit not with others…just alone…so not sure
Same with UCONN now, they want me to do same this week…crazy, blew me off, now I have ACC-Big Ten and SEC and they suddenly are interested…lol. Hello Coach Edsall/Maryland!
JUST SOME HOT SOUTHERN FRIED SWAG FOR #TERPNATION
SO EDSALL DOES HAVE CHARM……….HMMMMMMMMM
Adderall, it's what's for dinner
;) Just playing, bro. I still can’t make out what you’re saying, but I still love the enthusiasm!
6'4", 218....
He’d make up for Edsall swooping in on Nebrich. I wonder if Nebrich will even break through as a redshirt Frosh next season with two QBs ahead of him.

can't find an eval
but ESPN lists that Notre Dame, South Carolina, MD, Ole Miss, UNC, NC State and BC are all involved, FWIW. I’d wager a guess if the SEC schools are involved that he is at least a decent calibur QB. Let me do some more digging
Threw for 2500+ yards...
30 TDs, 12 INTs last year. Big 10, ACC and half the SEC are all over him. If I’m reading Swaggers convo right, kid has no interest in UCONN after they blew him off and then came back when he got high major offers (which contradicts the Scouts listing as UCONN having high interest and going hard for him).
But get this, he can punt too. Dropped 4 inside the 20, long of 60. He solves the QB problem and the Nick Ferrara at punter problem!
Want him, now.

He can make some awesome downfield throws. Obviously this is a recruiting video so they only put up the completions, but check the throw at the ~1:00 mark.
