Manster!
I just want to start off by saying the guy is a class act! Not to mention the guy is still sharp as a tack. I live in the DFW area and today Randy White came to my place of employment to sign autographs.
I just happen to be at the right place at the right time and ended in the front of the line. I walked up and placed my old school Terps logo down on the table for him to sign and told him “Hey I’m from Maryland and there is no way I am going to have something from the Cowboy’s in my house.” He laughed and I asked him if he still followed the team. He told me about doing fundraising in York with Edsal and how he had high hopes that Edsal could turn things around. I made the comment about keeping the local recruits at Maryland and he basically said he couldn’t agree more. He was basically saying how we need to get things turned around and was hoping that with events unfolding around the area... things looked favorable. The man was extremely nice and even asked if I wanted to get a picture with my phone. Not to mention he put his hand out for a handshake. As I was leaving the table he said something to the effect of (and I am not going to quote him) we need to make the headlines and not just because of our uniforms. Couldn’t agree more!
For a man that has his own show, in the HOF and owns a chain of BBQ joints he is very humble and down to earth. The guy is a legend and even though he played for the Cowboy’s I still respect the man and can’t say enough about how friendly he was.

As a Cowboys fan, this makes me beem with pride.
Sorry Boomer, the Manster was a beaaaassst!!! Best Terp Fballer ever. Whenever I’m in the DFW area during football season, I always love catching him on sports shows. He still looks like he could snap a QB’s neck. Glad to hear he still actively supports the Terp program. Seeing as how the current Cowboys team is a choking joke, my old #54 jersey gets heavy rotation on Sundays in the Fall.

Haha, but I'm glad Da'Rel Scott got a ring though.
I found a new respect for the Giants this year(except for B. Jacobs, will always be a complete d-bag:). I have hope after seeing Coughlin’s strict coaching ethos and winning results, that the same style might work in CP as well. Although, Coughlin reminds me of Dana Carvey’s “Grumpy Old Man” skits on SNL….“In my daaaay…….”

An actual Maryland fan would never be a Cowboys fan.

Umm, most of my friends from UMD are Cowboys fans too.
Sorry, Cowboys fans are all over America…hence the moniker “America’s Team”. Haha, I know that kills ya’ll. ;)

You may or may not be out of your fucking mind.

About which part, Joe?
I’m pretty lucid, btw.

Can't say I've met but one or two Cowboys fans at UMD
One was actually from Texas, which I can forgive… and the other was just an asshole.

We're just laying low because the state of our franchise
is a disaster right now due to our ownership. I’m sure you can relate ;)

You must not have many friends then.
@nkeninitz
Ouch, why do you hurt me?
It’s just me and my 1992 Dallas Cowboys sock-puppet team(53 man roster), hanging out in the basement playing Xbox with my paper mache’ Gary Williams statue. Try to be more sensitive, ya dick.

lol thats fair.
It’s the Cowboys-Redskins rivalry, it gets the best of me. Kind of like MD-Duke, you know?
@nkeninitz
Haha, totally get it, bro.
Just wish the Cowboys and Redskins would actually play in another meaningful rivalry game some time soon. Been way too long since both were good at the same time. I actually route for the Skins to get their shit together, whereas with Duke I just hope they burn in hell.

I damn both the Cowboys and Duke to hell.
No love for the other side. So… I hate 1/2 of you, 1 proud terp.

Randy has always been a class act
I was in one of his classes in 1971-2, and even though I was half his size, he always treated me with respect. Being a superstar never went to his head. I went to every home game he ever played at Byrd, and he was the most feared DL in the league all four years.
I still want to get to one of his restaurants when I’m in the DFW area, which is where my son works now.

Legendary dude
I recall meeting him at a Terps bball game at Cole shortly after he had won the Outland Trophy. I was about 12 at the time and he shook my with the biggest hand I had ever seen. I was in awe. I hated to see him playing for the Cowgirls, but always rooted for him. About 5 years ago he did a signing at Sports Card Heroes on Main St in Laurel (great little shop if you’ve never checcked it out!) and I took my son who was 12 at the time to meet him. I told Randy of my meeting him at a Terps game at that same age and introduced him to my son Gary. He stood up and shook Gary’s hand with the biggest hand my son had ever seen. Good times. I had him sign a Terps mini-helmet that sits front and center among all my UM stuff in the mancave downstairs.
Did you name your son after Gary Williams?
Because if not, I can’t imagine why anyone would name their son Gary this day and age.

Yeah, partially. Not sure what you mean by the second part of your message??

Great stories
When my son was 12 I took him to a Harlem Globetrotters game. We sat in the front row wearing Maryland jersies. Over bounced Exree Hipp before the game and signed both our jersies. He also had Curly Neal dump the water bucket over us, covering us with confetti. We’ll never forget it.
Randy was also a boozing, womanizing, steroid-using jerk.
It’s funny how people always like to see it one way.
Are you a Redskins fan?
If so, are you proud of Riggins? Seems to me he had some questionable behavior as a young man.

You got the whole story wrong.
Riggins was a crazy son of a bitch, but yea I love him. I admit he had his problems… so did Randy. I’m not a hypocrite, I call it as I see it and just because I say critical things it’s not meant to detract from anything they accomplished. It is what it is, I believe in reality.

Despite being a cowboys fan, I still like Riggo, btw. Just pointing out that you may be out of your fucking mind if you think you can throw stones in glass houses. Ha.

This house isn't made of glass.
What I’m saying is there’s nothing wrong with liking someone as long as you don’t hero worship and can accept the fact that they may not be the all glorious individuals many of us try to revere them as…
