Recruiting Update: 2013 OT Derwin Gray

For those of you who have insider, you can read the entire article. Points of importance though are that Gray is transferring from Dunbar to Friendship, the place where Albert Reid and Eddie Goldman came from in this class, and where Jalen Tabor (!) plays for the 2014 class. I can only hope that Tabor gets in his ear about staying local, but who knows with him and where he actually wants to go. Possibly Reid could get in his ear as well? Or maybe Abner Logan, he loves to recruit for us.

He stated he is going to start taking officials this summer, unfortunately for us we aren't first on the list, Miami is (according to a text he sent to ESPN).

well who doesn’t have Miami 1st on their first list? Are we on his list at all?

He has 11 offers, not including Miami. I haven’t even seen a list put out for Gray, but seeing as he is a DC football player (Dunbar before that post at that), I believe everyone assumed we made the list because of Locksley’s connections to the DC public schools (especially Dunbar).

So…as of right now, I’d wager that Miami is the only school he has made public that he has interest in unless someone can dig up more information on him. I’d say he is definitely interested in the Terps given the Locksley connection. Playing with Tabor probably doesn’t hurt either, even if Tabor doesn’t come here, he at least appears to be very interested in the Terps so I don’t think he would have anything bad to say.
