From The (Easton) Star-Democrat
Queen Anne's County High senior center Damonte Dodd scored 31 points and hauled in a career-high 30 rebounds, surpassing the 1,000-point mark with 5 minutes, 25 seconds left in Tuesday night's Class 2A District VIII boys' basketball semifinal.
The monster effort from the University of Maryland commit wasn't enough for the top-seeded Lions to hold off No. 4 Wicomico, though, as the Indians erased a 64-56 deficit over the final four minutes and advanced with a 78-73 road win.
"I'm glad I made it to a thousand points, but that wasn't my goal," Dodd said. "My goal was to get the 'W' and we didn't get that."
