I have been stating for weeks/months that MD wasnt actively pursuing Charles Mitchell. Well .... I was wrong. It turns out that Mitchell literally put a stop to his recruitment but will be going full steam ahead over the next month and will decide in late March.

I think I’d fit in perfectly there as a low-post scorer and defensive rebounder,” he said. “I also played against Shaquille Cleare a few times and became close friends with him.”
“Maryland is going to be one of my remaining visits. I just talked to [assistant coach Bino Ranson] last week. He was just letting me know they want me to come up for a visit and they could really use someone like me,” he said.
Mitchell, who also spoke with coach Mark Turgeon two weeks ago, has been watching the Terps and has noted their need for low-post reinforcements.
Mitchell, a 6-foot-7, 250-pound wide-body who’s averaging 17 points and 12 rebounds, plans to take three or four visits and make a decision in late March. He said Maryland, Tennessee, Florida State, Georgia, Cincinnati, Seton Hall, Florida and Virginia are in the mix. The Terps will definitely be getting a visit.
Thoughts: The Terps definately need help in the post. Adding Shaq and Mitchell would provide some serious size to the frontline. Additionally this could explain why the Terps havent been as active with 2013 big men as many people would have thought. I dont think that anyone on here would argue that the PG position isnt our weakest position, but after that a low post scorer is definately our largest need.
THE QUESTION REALLY is: Can Mitchel create his own shot or does he clean up around the rim? There is a big difference between the two. MD has a lot of players who can get the junk baskets but we dont have any player that can create their own shot.... a Jordan Williams type.
