Randy Edsall: Taking a Maryland team that had been Miltary Bowl winners and expected to be Bowling once again in 2011, and piloted them to a 2-10 record. Speaks of me, my, I, etc... Players leave in droves. Has dubious prior record as a head coach in FBS. Two assistant coaches given early exits. Players in his doghouse do not play.
Mark Turgeon: Takes a Maryland team that had not made the post-season, lost their best player, and has them possibly going to the N.I.T. Speaks in terms of the players, not egocentric. Had a great winning record at Texas A&M. Might lose assistant coach because that coach will be much sought after . Players in his doghouse do not start the next game.

At the start of the 2011 football season what did you think was more probable: 10-2 or 2-10?
At the start of the 2011-2012 BB season what did you think was more probable after 26 games: 11-15 or 15-11?
I would have guessed
we’d be closer to 10-2 than 2-10.

What point does this post convey
As far as I’m concerned, you’re just stating random facts.
Ok I'm not an Edsall fan and I love Turgeon,
But how many fucking times are we going to do this? Anybody with a half a brain knows that Turgeon has had a better start to his tenure here. What I also know is that despite recent developments, the football program has had a bit of a turnaround with the hiring of Locksley and the Diggs signing. We’ll see how it goes, but I feel better about the future of MD football today than I did two months ago. I’m willing to curb the Edsall bashing for now and see how the season plays out.

It's very simple
Turge is a go getter and players coach like Gary, hence a successful season. RF and RE are complete opposites. A players coach vs. a disciplinarian.. RE will get there, but not for at least 2 years until he has all his own player types.
coaching hires
would be very funny if after all the bitching,pissing,and moaning about edsall that he ends up being the better hire.i am not advocating either coach yet,i think they both need time and then the results will speak for themselves.
