Why didn't Turgeon make better subs today? Why didn't Turgeon double in the post today? Why didn't Turgeon make Nick not lose the ball when dribbling with his left hand today? Why didn't Turgeon make the hundreds of missed layups that our players missed today? Why didn't Turgeon implant a chip into Stoglin's brain that made him take smart shots today? Why didn't Turgeon force the refs to make better calls today?
Sorry, the facetious man in me couldn't resist. Sure, today was awful. Sure, the coach always deserves some of the blame for a loss, especially for such an ugly half.
But basketball comes down to making shots, playing defense, and winning things on the court. Turgeon puts the players in the position to make the right plays, but the players have to make it happen.
It's easy to praise or blame the coach when a team wins or loses, but let's remember that the players play the game. Moreover, let's not overreact from a bad loss against a tournament team, especially considering we were expected to finish 9th or 10th in the ACC next year?
Calm yourselves. The future is very bright.
