Do We REALLY need a PG in 2012?

There has already been a great deal of debate on this board regarding the Terps' need for a PG in 2012. I was curious, though, to find out if Nick Faust's performance against Boston College has changed anyone's mind.

Assuming Pe'Shon Howard is able to recover fully from his injury by the start of next season, he will likely be the starter. His performance this season fell short of expectations, considering how well he played during his freshman season. Is that a result of the pre-season injury? A sophomore slump? A lack of consistent scoring options, or something else? Only time will tell.

But Faust's play against BC - 14 points, six assists, five steals, four rebounds, and five turnovers - is exactly what this team needed. Are the five TOs a concern? Sure. But at least two of those resulted from playing out of control. That can be corrected. His ball-handling skills can also be improved. Granted, this game may have been a fluke, but we'll have the rest of the season to make that determination.

Keep in mind, also, that Faust's natural position, small forward, is one at which we'll have some depth next season with Mychal Parker and incoming freshman Jake Layman.

With that in mind, do you still think we're in dire straits next season at PG?
