Stefon Diggs did the unlikely last night. Why can't Maryland basketball do it this afternoon? I'm ready for a huge upset. Game tips at 4:00 on ESPN. For those who are TV-less, it'll also be on ESPN3 (direct link).
Random, Baseless Prediction: Alex Len alley-oop? Alex Len alley-oop. It happened like three times in the first two games, and then everyone went away from it and I don't know why. The dude is 7-1 and athletic, throw the ball up and let him get it. I'm guessing Nick Faust will be the alley-er.
Prediction: I'm sticking with my gut here, which is that Maryland keeps it close and even goes on a quick, Terrell Stoglin-fueled run that gives the Terrapins a legit shot sometime in the second half. But a quick three from Austin Rivers and a few touches to one of the Plumlee Ogres Brothers halts the momentum, Duke coasts the rest of the way. Probably 81-68.
Guessing game: no Howard means more PT for Faust. Give me points plus assists, with airballs as the tie-breaker.
Side note: I'm angling for a Stoglin-Rivers twelve-round Battle of the Chuckers. I didn't get it last time and that was extremely disappointing. But both are playing the best basketball of their careers and we know neither lacks for confidence. Things will get chippy.

Frontcourt played horrible today. They played soft, didn’t box out and they weren’t aware of their surroundings. Of course they got some calls, but it didn’t matter. If this game was officiated 100% fair, we still lose by double digits

Needed to man the fu*k up, on them, end of story. To play the Plumlees is simple, beat on them and get them pissed….Takes them right out of their game.
Pankey looked like he wanted to be anywhere else but on the court.
Sometimes he looks so lost and so unaware of what’s going on it’s scary. He doesn’t seem to have a clue how to play defense and he had some nice passes given to him and he couldn’t hang on……unacceptable I don’t care how long he hasn’t played basketball prior to this year.

We need tough talented players
This team after 30 minutes today just said ,,oh the hell with this besides Parker, Faust.
Overall I agree about skill
Padge is just too lean to keep anyone with real size off the boards. Len is a freshman and needs to work on fundamentals. Pankey just doesn’t give a shit. With Shaq and Layman my hope is that we don’t see much of Pankey and Padge next season.
Layman
Is not going to help inside next year. Its gonna be Shaq learning on the fly and more of Padge. Len needs to stick around the area after the season. Hit the books, the grub, weights and the great pickup games around B-more and DC. Pankey needs to get his freaking head straight and start using the body he was given for more then a Plumlee leaning post..
We will be good next year
With the people coming in and the growth of our young players, we will be good next season.
We are competing with some very good teams and dont have nearly the talent or depth. Have to applaud the coaching. Even though some things fall through. Turge is doing a great job.

IMO
If they don,t get a ponit guard and some more help up front other then Shaq we may be looking at a similar type season. I cant see this front line being that much better in one of season.

first and foremost. secondly it was a nice effort by an undermanned squad. we have to keep in mind that we are only have 8 scholarship players verses their 10 or 11. plus their scholarship players are 4 and 5 stars.
we certainly got whooped on the fundamentals. i am sooo sick of seeing len, pankey and padgett try to tap the ball to themselves instead of fighting for position. and i love turge, but this falls on coaching. with so many things to work on it is hard to really hone in on one thing and work all week, so it is going to get there, but it will take some time.
two words, nick faust.
yes he made some bad decisions and has been bashed a bunch on this site but today he shined. especially in the absence of stoglin who struggled from the field. i think this was his coming out party. he will be a great player next season and average around 11pts and 6boards. if not better. loved his and parkers play today. plus he picked that spoiled bratty rivers pocket.

I don't think he should have sat as long as he did....considering Faust was jacking up some bad shots as well (his went in however today)
He is our best player and he should be on the court whether he is having an off night or not…b/c he can light up at any time….
But that is really childish to tweet that

We did play.....did you not see us down by only 3 to the #9 team in the country at the half....
We were undermanned and played sloppy in the 2nd half….but we came to play and scrapped a lot (even getting it down to 6 late in the 2nd half after being down double digits…However a lot of mental errors doomed us.
