Polls are always fun, so what do folks think about the Terps' chances in the team's penultimate (or perhaps last) season in the ACC? The brackish water turtles have pushed their way past the most challenging portion of their out-of-conference schedule and will feast on cupcakes until their ACC opener against Virginia Tech on Saturday, January 5, 2013. So far, it's safe to say the Terps have exceeded expectations. Beside the three point loss to Kentucky in the opening game and a grinder against George Mason, the Terps have been winning comfortably, playing good defense, controlling the boards, and sharing the ball. Areas for concern include three-point and free throw shooting, which will need to improve in order for the team to contend for a top-four position in the ACC. So how will the team finish?
Poll
The Terps will finish the 2012-13 ACC regular season with an in-conference record of:
14-4. Top-two finish. Len dominates down low, Dez continues to slice and dice, and a consistent outside shooter steps up. (82 votes)
13-5. Top-three finish. Beat a couple of ranked teams, hold serve at home, look to do damage in the ACC and NCAA tourneys.. (188 votes)
12-6. Top-four finish. Slide into the dance easily to end the recent post-season drought. (306 votes)
11-7. Probably fifth. Will need at least one win in ACC tourney to cement NCAA status. (105 votes)
10-8. Middle of the pack and need to win a couple of ACC Tournament games to make it to the Dance. (28 votes)
9-9. Very average given strength of the ACC this year. Hello NIT. (5 votes)
8-10. Definitely disappointing. Third year in the row the season ends early. (0 votes)
7-11. Injuries hamper the campaign. (0 votes)
