Thought I'd link to it here -- not to boast about how prescient I was or proclaim "I told you so," but merely to note that some of the reasons I gave for joining the Big Ten at the time still apply today. (Although it should be noted that it was written before the university changed athletic directors, football coaches or had an athletic financial crisis that would lead to the elimination of several teams.) Also, I must add that after Nebraska was selected as the 12th member, I figured the Big Ten was through expanding; thankfully, I was proven wrong.
