This will be brief because I'm still a bit worn out from yesterday and because I neither saw the game nor had anyone report on it to me. The long an sort of it is that the Terps sewed up the regular season ACC title tying Clemson last night 2-2 in front of a senior night crowd of 3,684. Maryland scored first just over a minute in when John Stertzer, one of 3 seniors hit leading scorer Patrick Mullins who knocked in a blast from 20 yards to give the Terps a quick 1-0 lead. That's how things remained to the end of the first half.MD scored early again in the second half with freshman Schillo Tshuma scoring his seventh goal. The lead would not hold as Clemson scored 6 minutes after Tshuma's goal to cut their deficit in half and then again 6 minutes later to tie the score in the 59th minute. Maryland mustered six shots in the final 30 minutes but only one on goal and regulation ended 2-2. The Terps out shot the Tigers 4-1 in the first overtime and managed the only shot for either team in the second extra session but was unable to find the back of the net. The Terps travel to Wake Forest for a game on Thursday night to close out the regular season. Their next home game will be to host the first round of the ACC Tournament on Novemebr 5th.
