I have been thinking about this topic for serveral years and I didnt really know why. Then I came across this article at WAPO and it all makes sense now. Obviously Maryland is now down their top two QB's this season and it seems like there is a curse on Maryland QB's.
Now here is the reason, there is a curse. Check out this article from WaPo:

You honestly can't tell me that any other school in the NCAA can even come close to the injuries Maryland has suffered at the QB position. This may explain a lot more when it comes to Maryland's problems on having a consistant annual level of performance with wins and losses. If you go through the injuries throughout the years dating back to the late 90's its crazy. I mean honestly how many ACL's can be torn by players at one position? Also, it seems like these injuries happen in non game activities.
This could be me, but am I the only one that thinks this is a huge indicator on why Marylands inability to have consistant winning seasons? If you think about it, the most important position on a team and generally indicates the success of a team is the QB. If Maryland could have a player who was not injured play QB for 3 or 4 years, maybe just maybe the team would have consecutive winning seasons?
What do all of you think about this? I personally can't believe this and the fact that it would be hard pressed to find another school to even come close to these amount of injuries.
