I decided, while I was doing some odds-and-ends around the house today to sit and watch the women play @ UNC. I didn't know what to expect after their big come from behind win this past Friday night. Needless to say, I came out thoroughly impressed.

Alyssa Thomas hit a shot at the buzzer to send the game into overtime, and they eventually pulled away. Pretty exciting game all the way through. Our girls played with a lot of heart and hustle; big props to Coach Frese for getting the girls ready on short notice and keeping them focused throughout the game. As Ben mentioned the other night, this team is a definite contender for the national championship.

Also, I'm going to go out on a limb and say I can't think of anyone in the country with a better men's/women's basketball coach combination than Turge/Frese. I'll put them against any combo in the country.

So...Maryland hoops 1-0 in the state of N.C. today; let's make it 2-0 by 8:15 tonight! GO TERPS!!!
