Stay with it
After watching tonight's team, I have one message for all of us. Stay with it.
First, for the current MD students. I had season tickets from 2000 -- 2006. Back then the Duke game was big, sure, but EVERY home game was loud, packed and a really tough place for opposing teams to play. You want to really honor Gary? Bring it every night, like he did. Show up, pack the house for VT this Saturday, and help will the Terps to victory.
Second, for all of us, and most importantly for the team themselves. Stay patient with the schedule. It gets tougher before a potential little run at the end of the year. I still see this team finishing 8-8 in the ACC this year, which may not be enough for the tournament, but it would be a hell of an accomplishment considering where we started. Here is I how I see it playing out (VT - W, @MIA - L, UNC - L, @CLEM - W, @Duke - L, BC - W, @UVA - L, MIA - W, @GT - W, UNC - L, UVA - W). That means they will be 5-7 before winning 3 of 4 to close out the year 8-8.
Stay with this team. They are making progress, they are getting better. The team needs to stay positive with each other, trust their teammates, they need rabid support every game from the fans, and we all need stay encouraging.
Who knows, at 8-8, they will likely be the six seed in the ACC tournamenet, and maybe two wins gets them in, depending on how things shake out. Stay with it, it's working.

Like the optimism
And your projected w/l record, going to be tough but it’s possible.

I think that prediction is pretty accurate
But there will always be upsets. I would probably say a 7-9 team with a one game cushion either way. And again, this team does only has two players with more than 2 years of experience.
i believe ur projection is a little
on the high side, but share the approach. Really like the way Padge, Parker, Pankey, Faust are improving. I thought Pe had a very good game against duke. Len will skyrocket as soon as he gets comfortable with the higher competition.
Agree 100%
lets do our part and be loud as hell on Saturday. Help this team avoid a let down by bringing it for them against VT
Keep The Faith
They just don’t have the horses this year, but I agree in that I am starting to see a few guys make some real nice strides (now it just needs to be done consistently) and the lights are starting to come on. Turge was an absolute slam-dunk of a hire and though its not fair to compare, I see a lot of the same attributes we all loved about Gary in him (the big difference being Turge has a modern-day approach to recruiting). Its evident that his message is getting thru (did anyone recognize the Stoglin was actually trying to be a facilitator last night—that is a huge step).
My hope for this team for the rest of the year is to keep competing and for each of the guys to continue growing individually and as a team. beat the teams we are supposed to beat (8-8 in conf) and then go on a little min-run in the ACC tourney that keeps us in the convo for a tourney bid. I can honestly say before the season, I thought we had no chance to even be in the conversation for a tourney bid.
Everyone continues to grow as players, get Len stronger and with who we have coming in next year, there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel.
(PS—they better get themselves another PG though—someone/anyone who can handle the rock and get them in sets when P needs a breather.)
Keep the Faith!
Good Points. Only point I can disagree on, is the PS comment, Need another PG, but Pe will and should be the one giving the breather. I like him, but he’s not an ACC top level PG, that you can beat most of the top level teams with.
You guys are forgetting its barely been a month since he came back
He played MUCH better last night than the past few games. Pe’ isn’t as bad as he is getting portrayed these past few games, he’ll get back into his grove.
Agree...especially
now that Sene is out.

Not Worried
Not worried about this team at all…..8 weeks ago we had a bunch of walk ons and even today, 40% of the starting lineup is only 5-6 games old….improvement will not be linear but will come in bunches……
For anyone who went to the game last night, did KA speak at all? Was he booed?
You guys are forgetting its barely been a month since he came back
Like I said, i like him but he’s never going to be in the league of: Steve Blake, Hayes, Lucas, Gatlin, Manning, Stokes, McCoy, Kevin McLinton, Duane Simpkins, Francais?, etc..
If course not many are, but you need someone close to play with the big “boys”
I like it
We can debate the record, but what I really want is 1,000 responses to this post (or the “Comcast Center Atmosphere” post which speaks to the same issue) saying, “you’re right, we need to pack the house” and give the Terps a great home-court advantage for EVERY game!!
Agree 100%. Every game should be packed. Show the hostility!
I only missed 5 home games from 1970 – 1984. I circled the calendar and that was that. Traveled form Mt. Airy for 9 years. Not bragging, but this should spur you on, especially if you’re on campus.
