Encouraging Comments From Kirven
While we are coming off of a 2-10 season and obviously lack the cache of Bama, V. Tech, Auburn and the rest of the schools we are competing with for Reader, Kirven, Diggs, Darby etc, the one thing we do have going for us as a draw to recruits is playing time (and lots of it). I am glad to hear that aspect is not lost on potential recruits as well, as I saw that ESPN Insider had a blurb on Kirven's OV to Bama and he had this to say "The facility and the campus are just beautiful," Kirven tells ESPN.com recruiting expert Dave Hooker. "It's a beautiful place."
Kirven is also interested in Virginia Tech and Tennessee, but the favorite at this point may be the Maryland Terrapins. "If I went there I could contribute real early," Kirven said.
Also, Clemson's hire of Venables has them in the running for Darby now; whose list now reads as FSU, Auburn, N. Dame and Clemson. Darby had a visit with Locks on Thursday of last week. LSU is making a push but hasn't offered him yet.
Hopefully we are able to lock up Kirven or Reader (or both) as we desperately need depth there. Its looking less likely that any of Diggs, Darby (Goldman ship has sailed) are possibilities at this point?

Very nice
I didn’t really think we were serious players for him, but maybe we are. That would be a fantastic get – a 4-star DL from Va. (but not NoVa) — that’s definitely VT/UVA territory. Alabama has 2 DTs in their class already. I think VT is the main competition here.
Still in it with Diggs
Although a Florida lean. Goldman wouldn’t qualify so water under…
Goldman will go to FSU
with Edwards just solidifying his verbal to FSU, I’m going to hate FSU for the next three years. Goldman and Edwards at DT and DE is going to be nasty
I guess we'll know in 8 days
Pins & needles ’til then.
No offense
But, in that same article Kirven mentions certain things he likes about each school and most of them mention the prestige of the football program while he mentions that he liked the food at Maryland. Not really a great comment that has nothing to do with the program or academics, but with the food we serve. In my opinion if that is what he remembers were fucked.

hahahahahha
You didnt choose Tenn for the food? I mean the cafeteria was the first thing I checked out at Elon, after the athletic facilities, dorms, girls, academic building, etc… hell I might have checked out the outdoor sand volleyball courts before I checked out the damn food.

Tenn
First off there is nothing better the biscuit and gravy in the morning, and if I were a D Lineman I would be sold on that. All the others schools offer something Maryland can’t a crazy environment on game day. I think the whole Architecture major is a cover and doesnt need to be held to the light it is, Kirven will be choosing for football and football only.

He said that he likes MD because
he has the chance to make an impact early, aka he likes the fact that he can play early as a freshman. If you would of read the quote in the article above, Kirven likes MD because he could “contribute real early.”
Although kudos to you for clicking hte link, 90% of the people don’t do that before commenting, you just forgot to read the rest of the article ;)
One problem for 4 and 5 star prospects
coming to MD is the perception of getting sucked up in athletic hari kari. The athletic department is in financial DS, the football team may be years away from a turn-around, and playing before half-empty Byrd Stadium is hardly a selling point.
Nonstopjoe what are u smoking? This team already has solid talent and if we can get Kirven and Reeder this will be a very good recruiting class. If we lose no more players (academics or transfers) and avoid a rash of injuries next year; we will be bowling with at least 7-8 wins. It will take a couple of games for Stewart’s new scheme to sink in but the quality depth we have on defense we will be surprising several teams. Think like Wake and UVA this year. Also, I think the offense will be much more consistent this year with the scheme Locksley will employ.
Caleb Rowe
Ranked 13 in the state of SC on scout and 30th QB overall, and i think before scout had him at 70th QB overall and behind shawn petty.
