DC CB Kenneth Crawley commits to Colorado
Uh? I would've bet money on Crawley, a four-star cornerback from D.C., coming to Maryland. That's quite disappointing. Have to wonder if Maryland either didn't offer, or if Locksley's magic isn't quite as, uh, magical as we thought.

Wow lol
This wouldn’t hurt so bad I the ravens didn’t lose the way they did. Crap, now we must land Reader to finish strong. Colorado, WTF?
Colorado??
I would of put my money on any of the 3-4 schools remaining except Colorado. Maybe they tried to sell the Jimmy Smith success and coaching. Owell, it was always a last second push for him anyways because he decommitted so late, you have to think he had a favorite in the back of his head before he left Tennessee, but Colorado came out of no where.
He's always dreamed of winning Gold in the Winter X Games.
Where’s a better place to train, Vail or Ski Liberty?

Crawley - Academics
Crawley was committed to Tennessee and I live down here so several of my friends are die hards. Dooley had to pull Crawley’s scholarship because he wouldnt be able to qualify and the SEC strictly enforces the 25 scholarship players per class rule. The SEC also put in a mandatory Math accessment class in which ALL players must pass and I dont think Crawley did.
So to sum it up he’s not the brightest guy and cant cut it academically.

Looks like he had some friends going to Colorado.
That might explain the “out of nowhere.”
CU received its third commitment of the 2012 recruiting cycle and its fourth overall commitment from a Woodson High School player in the past two years on Sunday night when cornerback Kenneth Crawley announced he will be a Buff.
“#CUBuffs this is where I will be taking my talents.” … “So I guess they going to be calling us the big three.”

I know he’s just a kid, but I have to roll my eyes at the LeBron-esque comments.
As to Locksley magic...
not being what it was advertised as, of course it isn’t. There were some on another site saying he was one of the best recruiters in the nation. Which is absurd.
He’ll get his share of good players, but we do not have one of the best recruiters in the nation on our football staff.

He's the best D.C. area recruiter in the nation, without a doubt.
I’ll fight anyone who says differently. Doesn’t mean he’ll land every kid, but he’s an elite recruiter.
His results speak for themselves
Locks is a pretty sh*tty recruiter. All he is done is land a few 4 stars. Why hasnt he landed us one 1 star yet? After all, 1 stars are the best and what MD football should be striving for. I say we fire him… NOW.

Man i dont know what ive been doing for all these years
I really thought one stars were better than 5 stars. HAHAHA. Im shocked I got someone to believe I was serious.
Locks is a freaking STUDDDDD. Cant wait for more MD players that he brings in to make it to the NFL. Yesterday was great hearing MD mentioned as much as it was.

What?
I didn’t knock anyone. Why would it “also” be a knock on Maryland’s head football coach?
Like I said, over time, Locksley will get his share of good players. But I don’t see him getting too many 5 star players any time soon.

Care to explain in more detail?
The argument for Locksley is his track record of players like Derrick Harvey, Arrelious Benn, Vernon and Vontae Davis, etc, right?
What exactly is the argument against? The lack of 4-stars at New Mexico?
Can you be more specific?
What argument would you like me to give in more detail? The he is one of the best recruiters in the nation. Or that he isn’t?

Certainly.
Sorry if I wasn’t clear. You say that the idea of Locksley being one of the best recruiters in the nation is “absurd.” As this seems contrary to popular opinion here, I would like you to explain why you think that.
I can understand how many of the other posters reached their opinions because of his past recruiting successes. I was hoping you could elaborate on how you reached your opinion that he is not.
I was only saying...
that he isn’t one of the best recruiters in the nation. I didn’t say he wasn’t a good recruiter. Yes, I know that many are saying that he is one of the best nationwide, but I don’t see the evidence for that. How many 5 star players has he landed? I don’t think a one. When he was at Maryland, he didn’t clean up in recruiting. Yes, he landed some good players, but Penn State cleaned our clock every year in recruiting Locks was here.
To the point, I think he’s probably a very good recruiter, and just what we need. But what I consider to the “best in the nation” clearly isn’t what others think. I’m not knocking Locksley, I’m just saying…

Seems reasonable.
I’m pretty sure both Harvey and Benn were 5-stars (maybe even Wesley Jefferson), but I see what you’re saying.
It’s tough to pinpoint who the best in the nation are because obviously some schools are an easier sell than others. Whether he’s good or great isn’t worth arguing about. I think it’s fair to say from his history that Locksley is one of the best recruiters in the nation of kids from the DC area, which I think we all agree is a very good thing for Maryland.
You usually seem pretty reasonable and support your opinions, whether or not most others agree with you. I was hoping you weren’t posting a “Locksley is no good because Crawley [and most likely some of the other 2012 big fish] went elsewhere.”
Wesley Jefferson was a 5 star...
We’ll see how he does. I don’t need him to get 5 star players, just our fair share of major 3 stars, and a few 4 stars a year. Of course, legit 3 and 4 star players.
If a recruiting class is constituted right, with the right positions filled, year in and year out, you can compete at a high level with nothing but 3 star players. Achieving that is more difficult than some might think.

We have the best D.C. recruiter on our staff
not ne of the best recruiters in the nation, big difference. You’re right when you say his “magic” isn’t as good as adverstised, but its still pretty damn good. He got us back into the race for Diggs and got us Wes. We’re not gonna get every D.C. recruit because of Locks and anyone who thinks we will is on something, but he will get his fair share as you said. That’s all we really need from him.
Meant to be to Chuck
Forgot to click on reply. I need a 5 hour enery lol
No problem...
It wasn’t me who said he was one of the best recruiters in the nation. It was someone else, who was exagerating the impact Locksley would have.
Like I said, he’ll bring in his share of good players. Which is about as much as we can hope for.
Children should be seen and not heard.

I was simply agreeing with you
I don’t think he is one of the best recruiters in the country, but he is the best D.C. recruiter in the nation. His magic will be felt if he can land us the Arrelious Benn’s, Vontae Davis’, Joe Haden’s etc. of the area.
I don’t understand how Locksley hasn’t landed us the Harrison twins yet. Someone explain to me how he can be elite if he can’t get them.
