Remaining 2012 football prospects
Ok, so we all know the 2-3 2012 prospects MD is in the running for: WR/ATH Stefon Diggs, OG/DT DJ Reader and DT/DE Koren Kirven. ESPN just ran an article on the remaining top 2012 uncommitted prospects, which conveniently doesn't list MD as in the running for Diggs, but includes MD on some other prospects:
CB Kenneth Crawley (DC) - Crawley decommitted from Tennessee in all of there coaching changes and is now considering Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia and Colorado. He still has official visits left to take so ESPN thinks that MD, GA and CO have a legitimate chance if we can get him on the campus.
S Wayne Morgan (NY) - Morgan hasn't really ever said much in terms of his recruitment, and hasn't taken any of hte official visits he setup with schools in the south either. So...as ESPN put it, your guess is as good as theres on where he intends to go to school. He setup an official to UCONN but that is all the news that they had.
That is it for the top recruits that they had. Hopefully we can land the two defensive lineman, and I sure as hell wouldn't turn down secondary help. Landing a top corner along with the 2013 corner we already have a commitment for would be awesome, we need to keep it coming. Thoughts?

Stefon diggs on his OV to UF this weekend
@CaseyGoldstein- spoke to Donte Fowler and Stefon diggs this AM. Fowler is enjoying his OV so far, not sure the same could be said for Diggs.#Gators
@frampa5- Diggs not having a good time?
@CaseyGoldStein- Said last night was “boring.” Not sure what that means.
Diggs & Goldman
Bet they end up at Auburn now, possibly with Darby as well.
Two things
First, it’s illegal to talk to recruits on their OVs, so somebody just broke a rule.
Second, YES YES YES YES YES YES
False alarm
Apperently he was being sarcastic to her, so she says.
He'll end up going to UF
I live in Gainesville and from what I heard he really seemed to like the campus and the women. Plus Florida’s got the advantage with the number one and three QB of the 2011 class starting next year.
Eh, that's likely, but Florida football recruiting is a lot like Kentucky basketball recruiting
They think they’ll land everyone. Even though they often do, it’s a bit too one-size-fits-all. Waaaaay too much time right now.
Well gosh im sure everyone like the campus and women there

Yes
I’ve been there and uh, ya… if you don’t find their campus and female population impressive… there’s not much hope for you.

got to, cuz the rest of the city and area truly is boring
but campus can make up for some of that – or most of that…

We're definitely in with Crawley, just based on Locksley
Guys from HD Woodson and other DC publics like Dunbar and Ballou love Locks. That’s where his pull is greatest. He gets hired, Crawley decommits from Tennessee like two weeks later. There’s a connection there. I’d be vey surprised if he went anywhere else, just based on the logic of things.
I don’t think he’s an instant-impact guy the way Darby would be, but he has elite potential with his size and speed.
my thoughts and odds...
Diggs 30%
Reader 45%
Kirven 30%
Crawley 60%

As a value better
I’d bet against all those given those odds.

Diggs 20% – Auburn + UF are prohibitive favorites but there’s so much time that quite a bit can happen
Reader 48% – I don’t think UNC has much of a chance, so it’s probably us + Clemson
Kirven 10% – Will be tough to beat Tennessee and VT
Crawley 80% – Unless he gets an offer from OSU or something, we’re the prohibitive favorites
I agree with this
Diggs- to hard to read so we might still have a chance, like you said Ben with the AU visit. After that visit AU was the favorite now after the UF visit he’s leaning there. He seems to be enjoying the game and attention so let’s let it play out.
Reader- had his OV with Clemson this weekend. I believe he’s down to UMD and Clemson also, while Clemson has the better baseball program our baseball coach is one hell of a recruiter. And he likes UMD as a school and his relationship with the coaches seem to be better.
Kirven- I say Tennessee, IMO. UMD has made its case and he seems to be impressed but with vt being the favorite for so long and UT hiring Sal Sunseri, not much else can be done.
Crawley- 80% is a little high for me. I’d say 65%, because he just visited Kansas this weekend and he does like them. But as you said the " Locksley Factor" is too strong in this one.
We can finish strong in this class, but I’d be satisfied with what we have now. As long as they are hitting the trail hard for next year, which appears to be the case. I say we atleast finish with Reader and/or Crawley due to the relationships built, and I’m holding out hope for a big steal. GO TERPS! GO RAVENS!
luvs FLA campus - Gainesville has zippy appeal
unless you like serial murderers.
Ben and Chris – looking at your odds, I just hope we land one player of the bunch.

I'd like to land Reader and Kirven out of the bunch
But if we landed a 4 star corner and that is it I’d be happy with it too. The 3-4 relies on good corners depending on how you play it, and corner depth never hurts. Half the time they turn into safeties at the college level in the first place.
I think the #1 priority to me though would be Reader for that NT in the 3-4, because they are so hard to find and he seems to be a good fit at the NT position. Does anyone know how Reader feels about the switch to the 3-4 and where MD thinks he would play? The DT in a 4-3 can play both end spots in the 3-4 but I think Reader is more the size of a NT.
According to scout
Wayne Morgan is down to Uconn and Syracuse. I’d love to get some DL in this class though, maybe theres someone else we don’t know of for the dline.

Wait Crawney and Reader are both 4 stars
Interesting. Getting those two would put us in the top 30 nationally and 5th in the ACC.
Reader is fringe
so it depends on what service you are looking at, but Crawley is a consensus top 150 prospect
One down, Crawley to Colorado
that was out no where
