Around SBN: How The Kings Beat The Coyotes: Lather, Rinse, Repeat

Duke/FSU and Syracuse/Notre Dame and my Optimisim

FSU just had one of the best games I can remember, a 3 point buzzer beater to beat duke at cameron -- that is HUGE for them, props. I think FSU has officially proven they are perhaps the best team in the ACC. Additionally, Notre Dame is currently beating the number 1 team in the country by 15 points. Temple also beat duke. Maryland's lost to teams that they SHOULD had lost too, and the sad thing is several of those losses had to do with conditioning, mental errors, and maturity.

I am proud of our team, the fact that we have watched games that ended up being really frustrated is a testament to Turgeon. I do find myself wondering how we beat Notre Dame w/ out Len or Howard, and am really starting to wonder if Howard's re-introduction to the lineup disrupted whatever continuity we had -- I know that sounds crazy stupid to say given how his injury really did some damage to Faust and Stoglin.

I think our team is going to grow a lot this year, and we could see an end of season run... I just can't write these boys off, we have beaten every team we should had beaten, some shouldnt we probably had -- and kept it close with a few that were out of our league. I am really interested in how we look at the end of the season, and even more interested in what happens when we gain Cleare, Layman, and Allen.

Dunno, I am still optimistic somehow.... hope we can pull out 1 of 4 vs duke and nc... any more than that would be AMAZING, and even that 1 is unlikely -- but it could be season defining.

Our best chance to beat Duke or UNC is this Wednesday

They’re a young team, have some very fragile players (Rivers, Dawkins, Plumlees). With all the emotion that’s going to be in Comcast Wednesday night, if we can get out to a solid lead within the first 8-10 minutes, Duke will start to force the issue and we could come out on top.

+1 - Totally agree

Sure the losses to Temple and FSU don’t look that bad, but the fact is we had Temple easily and just fumbled and bumbled the game away with ridiculous mental errors. They aren’t more talented than we are, but as of now, they’re definitely smarter than we are. Hope we can turn it around, but it’s starting to seem like the same old, same old. We can beat other middling teams, but I want to see us stop talking about it and get it done for once against somebody who is good. Just very disappointed by the mental lapses in a late January game yesterday….both the players and the coaches are at fault. Sure, we’re young and need to grow up… well then let’s do it already.
