In this post, we appreciate Sean Mosley
1st fan post!
Sugar Sean has really been answering the call as of late--he's averaged 15 ppg over our first 3 ACC games and 16 ppg over the last 4 games. I really think he's starting to feel confident, and is looking like he may finally be what we've all been hoping for from him: a legitimate 2nd scoring option for the ACC season. He also locked down Rice today and is our most consistent defender. He really looks to be living up to the role of a senior leader now.
He's also coming up on a milestone: I believe he's on course to eclipse 500 rebounds for his career against FSU.
Thanks Sean, and I'm looking forward to watching you lead us into some form of post-season play, wherever it may be.

He's the heart and soul of this team
He does everything fundamentally right.

If He can keep up that scoring pace
We have a good shot at the Tourney
If he stays aggressive
he can keep this scoring pace up. Sean will be the reason we make the tourney. He realizes we need that 2nd consistent scoring option and, so far, he’s stepping up. Not to mention he’s the best perimeter defender on the team.
Wouldn't go as far as that
but if he can average at least 12 ppg and at least one of Pe’ and Nick can pick it up, we have a shot.
Major Respect
Glad to see Sean becoming more assertive offensively.

Sean has been a great four year Terp
and about what fans should have hoped/expected. When he is playing with confidence he is a good offensive player. Since he’s undersized, he has trouble finishing in the lane but I really like it when he squares his shoulders and pops jumpers. he has a nice looking jump shot.

It just took him time to find his niche
Never actually saw him, but from what I hear he was more of a banger in HS with a post game and all. I think part of the reason he’s doing well now is that he’s finally worked on developing some guard skills—instead of an undersized PF/SF, we now have a stout SF/SG. He still has the nice mid-range touch, but now he’s also legitimately our 2nd best outside threat right and is driving it to the hoop better than I remember (maybe that was just confidence?).
It seems to me like he realizes that these are the developments he needs to make if he’s going to make a career of this somewhere. I could see him playing in Europe.
Class act
The kid works hard, keeps his mouth shut and leads by example. He really stepped up at the end of the game again today by nailing free throws, hitting a clutch 3 and stripping Rice on the defensive end. He does not get nearly the credit he deserves. He represents us well and I’d take a dozen Sean Mosley’s on my team any day.

This season especially
Sean deserves all the praise we can lavish on him for his performance to date. Even when he hasn’t scored, he continued to find ways to contribute whether it’s been on D, with timely rebounds, setting screens, making the extra pass, etc. I can’t help but think that’s had an impact on Nick Faust who has impressed me by doing much the same despite his shooting woes. Stoglin’s the flash but Mosley carries the cash.
Thanks for this post
This is the way to finish a college career! Couldn’t be more happy for him. Whatever becomes of this team, we know SSM will have left it all on the floor and then given a little more. So glad to see his hard work being rewarded. Hopefully we give him a great sendoff on senior day, he has a great run in some tournament, and he’ll go on to a long perfessional career somewhere.
And just think. Next year we can wax nostalgic and poetic about James Padgett, heir to the title “Hardest Working Man in Shell Business”!

"couldn't be more happy for him"?
I could. How about he leads us to a great season and the NCAAs Tourney?
okay I'm gonna man up and apologize to you
I went over the top on the other thread when you said Padge reminds you of Moses Malone. No idea if that had any bearing on this response to me or not, but I owed it to you regardless.
Now, what I mean by my post is that coming into this year I don’t think any of us would have expected Moseley to step into the role of secondary scorer while doing all the things we’ve always appreciated about him. Phrases like “probably too much to hope for at this point” were pretty commonly used iirc. For my part, I thought he would continue to be the quintessential glue guy but not more. A 10 ppg average seemed optimistic. Because he’s gone well beyond what I thought he could acheive, I am happy for him. Whether or not we make it, he’s doing everything he can to enable us to reach the postseason. That’s worth celebrating imo.

GT coach
said this about Mosley:
I thought [Sean] Mosley was the toughest kid on the court. He flat out won them the game."
That’s the 2nd coach this year that has gone out of his way to praise Sean…Mike Brey did it as well. The fact that people hate on Mosley is absurd…he does everything little to make this team win. Without him I’d go as far as to say we’d be something like 9-7, he has made a ton of big plays to help us win all these close games.

+100000
I’m coming around on Sean as an all-around basketball player. He’s just a flat-out gamer and like I said in Ben’s GT post-game post, I wish their were better ways to analyze players on the defensive end of the ball. Mosley is relentless on D and has to add 3-4 offensive possessions per game as a result of his work on defense.

SSM is another of those players
we all talked about in the preseaon, wondering how productive he might be, given his lackluster stats last season. IMO, he has MORE than stepped up, especially over the last 4 games or so. If he’s able to sustain that level of production, his could be a MUCH better season than we expected.
Super game for Sean
We need him to be consistently good throughout the ACC schedule. He’s playing like a senior should now.
