I was sort of bored tonight and so started to think about the Rodney Purvis commitment to NC State.  My first reaction was the same as it always is when top recruits go to schools like NC State – wahhh??!!!  But then I tried to take a more even-minded position, and my mind started to wander: if NC State is able to pick up a recruit like Purvis this year with Yow at the helm, does this in some way give us cause to rethink the recruiting debate about Gary/Yow/lack of talent, or do we chalk this up to new regime combined with a local guy committing to his childhood team (perhaps in spite of Yow)?  And does this also give us a reason to become more desperate for a “statement” recruit like Carter or McGary?  What do we make of the Wuffies recent success?
