According to a story by Jeff Ermann at InsideMDSports, Terps power forward target, Charles Mitchell, is planning an official visit to College Park sometime soon (mid-to-late October appears to be the most likely timeframe). He listed Tennessee, Clemson and Florida State as other possibilities, and added that he would take three official visits.
While UMD fans are anxious to add to it's Top 10 (ESPN) recruiting class, the top-tier prospects appear to be in no hurry. In addition to the Mitchell story, it's been well reported that Mitch McGary, Robert Carter and Amile Jefferson aren't planning to announce anything for another month or two.
There has been speculation that SG prospect Torian Graham may make a decision sooner than expected, but with nothing new on that front in the last several days, a quick Graham committment appears to remain mere speculation.
With Mitchell's comments, it appears that MD's primary PF targets will all make a decision in late October or November. That being said, the only two who appear to be mutually exclusive are McGary and Carter. A combination of McGary/Mitchell or Carter/Mitchell would still be very workable.
