With all of the excitement and expectation of a potential top 10 men's bball recruiting class there has been little posted on our women's hoops targets. As it currently stands ESPN has our women's team ranked as the 18th best recruiting class for 2012.
Currently the class consists of two 4* recruits:
Tierney Pfirman, 6-2 F, #22 overall ESPN100 (4*, 95 Scouts Grade)
Chloe Pavlech, 5-6 PG, (4*, 91 Scouts Grade) looks like she's just outside the top 100
The class has the potential to get significantly stronger in the next few weeks with official visits scheduled with three top 20 5* recruits. The first to visit will be Malina Howard, a 6-3 forward out of Ohio ranked #7 overall ESPN100. She is down to two schools, MD and Notre Dame. According to ESPN she visited Notre Dame on the 16th and will visit MD this weekend starting on the 30th. We get the last visit and the odds are 50/50. I like our chances.
The second visitor is Jordan Adams, a 6-1 guard out of Mater Dei in Cali. She's ranked just above Howard @ #6 overall ESPN100. She has her official scheduled for Oct 8th. She has one visit after MD which is to Tenn on Oct 22nd. She has previously visited Washington, UCLA and USC. Some tough competition, but I'm hopeful that Coach Frese can pull this one out.
The last visit will be from Alexis Prince, a 6-2 wing from FL, #16 overall ESPN100. Her official visit is scheduled for Oct 15. Also in the running for her services are Baylor, Kentucky, LSU, and Oklahoma.
That's three 5* recruits with scheduled OV's in the next two or so weeks. It's great to see that the women's team could land another top 5 class. Any two of these three would be amazing. I have no idea how many schollys the women have available for next year, but I hope that they can pull at least two of these girls. The women's staff is putting in work. They had the #2 class in 2010, had a great year last season and I'm looking forward to big things from them this year also. Gotta rep for the ladies, they'll be the best bball team on campus this year.
