It looks like were going to be adding a total of 4 walk-ons to the team this year. Two of them were pre-determined by Gary and Turgeon, and the other two were found through the tryout process. The new additions to Turgeon's squad are:
John Auuslander, F, So, 6-7, 215 lbs.
Spencer Barks, C, Fr, 6-9. 225 lbs.
Arnold Richmond, G, Fr, 5-11, 175 lbs.
Jacob Susskind, G, Fr, 6-4, 180 lbs.
My take on it all is that these are overall good addition. Barks is a banger who Gary was interested in right before he retired. He can take up space, set great picks, and crash the boards. He definitely has considerable size and could play a significant role in various situations such as foul trouble. Auuslander is a transfer from D3 Greensboro College. He's been practicing with the team since last year, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get in the mix. As for the two freshman guards, we all know how guard heavy we are, but I guess if size wasn't really available at the tryouts, you take the best talent available.
