Last night I watched the first quarter of the Adidas Nation Championship game (had to get to bed because I get up REAL early.) I saw the Harrison twins and Nate Britt play on the same team and I'm here to tell you all three are mighty impressive together. The team consisted of rising Juniors with a single rising Sophomore. They played a team composed of rising seniors with some five star players. Both teams were undeafeated in tournament play, each going 5-0.
Before this game I watched the consolation game with juniors on one team and seniors on the other and the seniors won convincingly 130-108 due to the superior skills and strength an extra year of age and trainging brings. I thought the same would happen in the championship game, but I was wrong!! Although the juniors lost 114-107 thanks to 25 points and 10 rebounds by Amile Jefferson on the seniors team, the play by Aaron and Andrew Harrison was very impressive. Can't find a story online that gives their stats for the game, but the little I watched in the first quarter made me a believer. In additon, I watched Nate Britt score two three pointers in a few minutes on feed from Andrew. I taped the game and will watch the rest this evening.
It would be just fantastic if we could land the Jefferson for the 2012 class and the Harrison twins AND Britt for the class of 2013.
