Who Are We? Where Are We? Terps!
I've been reading this blog for quite some time and over the past few months the amount of readers and contributers has exploded. I feel this community is the most active of all the ACC blogs. I thought it would be great if we were to share some information about each other to better enhance our blogging experience.

Best Terp Moment You Saw In Person: Has to be beating Duke on Senor Night. But the 10 point comeback vs. Clemson punctuated by a Vasquez dunk was sneaky one of the best crowd atmospheres in history
I remember that clemson game
came in the middle of the blizzard so they opened up another 2000-4000 seats for students and to be honest almost all of the crowd noise is from the students so definately was one of the loudest games ever seeing it almost doubled the student section
I was at that clemson game
it was so loud when vaz stole and dunked…I love this video…how quickly the ref blows the whistle for a Clemson timeout…it was like a knockout bunch and the ref breaking up the fight..goosebumps!!!

Yeah I'm getting closer to joining the Twitter world.
I’d most likely just do it for the real time news and info. I really just don’t like the idea of me(random stranger) chiming into the lives of 16-17 year old kids, think it’s a bit creepy, imho. But, I guess kids today probably don’t see it that way. It is a powerful tool, that’s without question. I have messed around on it a bit doing McGary, Shaq and Britt searches, and I can see how it’d be addicting. We’ll see, I’ll give you a shout out if I bite the bullet and get a Twitter Handle.
ah, I'm up there in years

by LongTimeTerpFan on Aug 5, 2011 7:11 AM EDT up reply actions
The years post college seem to pass by faster and faster each year.
Although this dead period this Summer without a bball commit seems to be taking FOREVER, lol. I think it’s awesome that you still have the Terp spirit running strong 40+ years later. Gives us all hope, my friend.
time does goes faster
by our perception. Every year at 20 years old is about 1/15 of our aware (ability to remember events and time) lives. By age 50, 1 year is 1/45th of our life. So combine that perception with more activities and routines that blur together, and it’s a recipe for a real feeling of time moving faster. Kind of gets frustrating at times, but I guess us older guys have no choice but to adjust – just keep enjoying yourselves!
"A new era has dawned in Maryland Athletics..."
That makes you really old
Glad to see some long time Terp fans still around. Got my MS at CP in 1973.

I want to point out, I was first to list Suter after long, hard critical thinking. But ball purist is my elder so he can get credit for the Suter fanclub.

Cole Field House
I still feel pretty young at 33, but for those of you who are much younger and never got to see a game in Cole Field House…. I am sorry. To this day.. still the greatest place I’ve ever seen a sporting event… PERIOD. Capped by the final game (in which I attended) with a blowout win over UVA. Still have the game ticket.
I'm 20
But I am lucky enough to have seen multiple games inside Cole. I don’t really have any memories of the games themselves, but I do remember very well walking around inside, the crowd, the view, the feel, the noise, the heat, etc.
Nothing can top it.
im a senior and
my dad always talked about going to a game at cole. unfortunately we never made it but were there for the second game at comcast. its kind of sad to think that most of my classmates dont know anything about the history of cole. ive heard some discussion about having a game there every year but idk if its possible since they ripped up the court.
My son went to a Lefty BB camp in Cole (son is now 45.) Have a picture (somewhere in an old album) of my son and his friend (both age 12) standing in front of Wes Unseld. Wes was so wide that his shoulders extend out beyond both kids. Cole was also venue for first all-black team to win a national championship. Lots of history made in that building.

Best Terp Moment: MD beating number 1 Duke my senior year. My girlfriend (and future wife) flew down from her school in Massachusetts (Holy Cross) to spend the weekend with me. I end up leaving her at my house since I had a ticket to the Duke game, but no guest ticket. Sorry honey, but it’s the Duke game!

You're the expert and I have one question
I sign up for a Twitter account. What is the first thing i do that is Maryland relevant. I’ll take it from there.
by PaTerp on Aug 5, 2011 2:39 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
look up me (@Terptek)
follow me (hit “Follow”), then go to my lists and click on the “Lists” menu, then click on @Terptek/basketball-recruiting. You’ll have a good starting list of mainly basketball recruiters that I follow for info. Some of the other posters like Charlotte, etc, have others. We just had a recent TestudoTimes post with recommendations.
So for a first step, you have a list you just click on and get instant recruiting information from across the country including top outlets and smaller bloggers. Don’t even need to tweet a single thing :) …. yet…. and thanks for following me #FF (Follower Friday) #TeamFollowBack type that in and you can see tweeters who followed, or thanks someone for following them.
"A new era has dawned in Maryland Athletics..."
of course, then you can customize your site "look" by entering the "Settings" menu under
under your twitter handle at the top right – enjoy!

Best Terp Moment You Saw In Person: Either the Cliff Tucker buzzer-beater over GT or the win over Duke for GV’s Senior Night. For the Cliff buzzer-beater, I was four rows from the where the shot was released and I remember standing up on my seat and screaming “Oh my f***ing God!” for a good 60 seconds. Good times…
what makes the Cliff shot more remarkable
was GV making his shot too b4 KB’s TO (insert GW freak out at Keith – lol) – that cannot have occurred more than a handful of times.

Awesome, I've stayed in Playa Jaco.
A small hotel on the beach run by some California surfer family. It was almost 10 years ago, I’ve heard things have changed down there, more touristy. Love CR, will probably retire there when the time comes. Do me a favor today, drink an Imperial for me. Pura Vida!!!

If you are ever down this way look me up. We are building some very cool affordable homes here..especially a new project in Playa Hermosa. Check out : www.casitasforsale.com.
Go Terps Go!
Haha, I stayed in Playa Hermosa too!
I stayed down there for a month and a half and bounced around from town to town, on both coasts. I think it’s great what you’re doing with the casitas. I have a construction business up here in the DMV, and I’ve considered building down there as well at some point, just not sure if I want go that route yet. But after taking my honeymoon in Belize several years ago, I fell in love with that country too. I see a lot of potential down there as well…scenery just as beautiful as CR, but English is the official language so it would make it easier on the wife. I speak Spanish, so living in CR would suit me fine as well.
In any case, not to stray too far off of Terps subject material here, but I will definitely look you up when I get a chance to get back down there. Hopefully next year, I’ve already told my wife it would be a great anniversary trip. In any case, being the Terrapin fan that I am, maybe I could convince you to build me a casita in Tortuguero…for obvious reasons, lol!!!
Go Terps!!
