Maryland Minute 8.15.11 - Terps Lose Starting DE Anderson for Six Weeks
Maryland Terrapins lineman Justin Anderson out for at least six weeks
Anderson started every game last year, but you'd be hard-pressed to know it if you didn't look at the stats. Maryland has some depth at DL, so I'm not too terribly worried right now. First injury of note, though.
SEC says no Texas A&M
Which would mean that FSU and Clemson would stay put as well. But ...
Legal maneuvering at hand in Aggies’ plans for SEC
But it would appear that these things aren't over, and, in fact, it isn't even a roadblock at all, but instead just the next step. See:
My understanding is this is simply part of the (convoluted) legal process of A&M bolting the Big 12 for the SEC – that it must be documented that A&M courted the SEC, not vice versa, to avoid potential lawsuits. The A&M regents are still expected to hold a teleconference on Monday to discuss "conference alignment."
Maryland makes cut for Kamari Murphy
Along with Miami, Oklahoma St., UConn, Mizzou, Temple, Florida, and Auburn. Three-star PF from Brooklyn. Something about Turge and Brooklyn PFs.
2012 PF Brandon Taylor 2012 Lists Terps
I wouldn't think he's got a committable offer but he sounds like an intriguing prospect. 6' 8, big-bodied forward who can hit consistently from the outside. Seems like he's got a ways to go in terms of developing a handle and becoming more assertive, but he may be a name to keep an eye on. - BG
2013 SF Jared Nickens might have MD interest
Doesn't claim an offer, but says he might be visiting.
"I also have a visit to St. Joe’s scheduled for August 27th," Nickens said, later adding, "I also might be visiting Maryland in September too."
Adrian Bowie to Play in Poland
Glad he landed somewhere. Hope he likes bigos. H/t to Terp11. - BG

Loosing Anderson is going to hurt.
When will the injury woes end for Terp football? We are never two deep on the O or D lines. Damn!

This is serious
I thihk Edsall will rotate Lineman as part of his strategy to keep players fresh. Another line injury and the game plan might need to be changed.
Clemson, Fla. State likely not SEC candidates
The SEC won’t expand into states where it already has a member, which probably thrusts Virginia Tech (despite its public denials) and N.C. State into the discussion: http://outkickthecoverage.com/fsu-and-clemson-have-no-shot-at-the-sec.php
