With time off, you would think JWill would have done the same...

So, without bringing up the old vitriol of whether JWill should have stayed or left (the answer is stayed, BTW), one should wonder what he should be doing with his time off due to the NBA lockout.  Jordan has said he would like to come back and finish his degree.  If so, this seems like it would have been a golden opportunity to do so.

Tristan Thompson was the 4th overall pick and has chosen to do just that, returning to Texas for classes and to train with his old team mates.  It would seem the logical thing to do, but JWill is nowhere to be seen or heard.  Perhaps stockpiling twinkies from various convenience stores around the country, just in case?  Sharing banana cream pie with Elvis in Vegas?

Seriously though, it would seem an ideal situation in which to continue your education as well as train with people you called team mates for a year or two.

I like the logic and hubris Thompson displays: "I've been living 20 years without NBA checks. It's not going to change my life. I'm not going to buy a house or a Bentley or anything. I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing."

So what do you guys think?  Is JWill wasting free time, or was he sincere when he said he wanted to finish his degree?  It makes me wonder if he ever did make that post draft call to Gary.
