So in the wake of the MT hiring, I think it's time to point out two obvious things.

1.  MD is a top tier job in a way that NC State and some of our fellow ACC programs (outside of Duke and UNC) are not.  NC State wanted MT--he wouldn't budge.  Miami's coach just bolted for the B12 and Clemson's coach just bolted for DEPAUL!  Virginia (which I think is the 4th best job in the ACC right behind Maryland) got a coach who, on paper, seems comparable to MT--time will tell who made the better hire and if Bennett can get it going @ UVA.  But it's clear--UMD is a great job (and NC State sucks :)

2.  Gary Williams sure does look better in hindsight though doesn't he?  Those who thought that once gary would leave---that umd would be able to attract the likes of Dixon, Miller or Wright overestimated the strength of UMD basketball.  As happy as I am about the MT hire, the future with him is yet to be written whereas we knew we had a hall of fame coach and proven winner going into each and every season.
