"I’m sure [Mark Turgeon] is going to offer [Seth Allen]" a scholarship, Fredericksburg Christian Coach Darren Berkley said Thursday. Allen earlier this week told the Fredericksburg Free-Lance Star that he would "most likely be ready to commit" if offered. ...

"A lot of assistants were there, but Turgeon was the only head coach who came," Berkley said. "Seth has such a feel for the game, anything he’s on, he wins. He splits [double teams] better than any kid I’ve seen. He can elevate. He’s a lefthanded Steve Francis. He’s pretty special, a leader."

Josh Barr on Seth Allen h/t to FeartheTurtle for getting this earlier, but it deserved front page. A lefthanded Franchise? It's an exaggeration, of course, but even if they just have similar playing styles I'd be happy. He's also really good friends with Anderson, and I would imagine that getting him on board would also help to keep JA in, too, even if Ehsan ended up somewhere else. If Breunig and Gibbs end up elsewhere and Maryland doesn't fill their holes in 2011, then there will be a grand total of five scholarships available in 2012. Anderson's aboard, so then there'd be four more. Considering that, I'm fine taking a flyer on Allen to keep momentum up, fill a hole, and see if Turgeon's eye (which worked with Khris Middleton pretty well) is right on here.
