Support Is Paramount

This past week has been a little crazy, but I think it shook out pretty well for the terrapin nation. My take on the whole Sean Miller, Jamie Dixon, Brad Stevens...etc thing is that we put out feelers to quite a few coaches. I think we really only had interest in Dixon and Miller. The media grasped onto coaches saying they weren't interested as a declined offer. That wasn't the case IMO. It was just them being in very settled positions. It doesn't mean we went down a list, I think we went to all of these coaches at once to gauge interest. Also, it's my belief that our AD is kindof a harda$$ when it comes to what he wants in a coach. He bailed on Mike Leach without looking back, and my feeling is he didn't budge as much as Sean Miller wanted. Just my take though. Turgeon was a surprise to me, and someone I really had to do some research on. After doing so, I think I caught feelings. This guy is the epitome of who I would like at the helm. Granted I will admit his recruiting isn't Sean Miller, but it's good. He was selling kids on College Station. I think we'll find that he is a GREAT hire. I'm more worried about Kansas trying to cherry pick him in 7 years rather than Turgeon not being successful. This brings me to my point. I watched the WaPo's video of a few student reactions and it was dismal. I understand that a lot of students can't see the big picture, but people need to understand this hire is solid, and IMO better than our first choice Jamie Dixon. The only way I see this coach failing is if he loses fan and student support. It seems like some students already have a negative feeling because they "wanted someone else". It's time for the student body to understand that they don't know that much, and put some faith in the administration. Let's get behind our new coach 100%. If we do that, I can almost guarantee his success. Coach Turgeon is the man!
